BreyerFest Live '99

Here was my entry in the Collector's Class, which won 3rd place. Notice I chose models that were not only rare & in fabulous shape, but also demonstrated an excellent variety of different areas/examples of the Breyer collection: Horse & Rider, Woodgrain, hoofpads, very early special run, other animal, Decorator, Glossy, Charcoal, eyewhites, Chalky, Porcelain, Flockie, Clock, test/one-of-a-kind, China, unique "toy"....
Top, left to right: Canadian Mountie on Dark Brown Fury Prancer (complete), Woodgrain Fighting Stallion with original hoof pads & a unique color shade for this model, Special Run Glossy White Boxer with original chain collar, Florentine Running Mare |
Middle, left to right: Glossy Charcoal BreyerFest Surprise Model "Shannon", Chalky finish Brighty with original book, Fine Porcelain Shire with certificate |

Here was my entry in the Theme Class, which won second place. Titled "Ghosts of BreyerFests Past", it displayed every Dinner/Celebration Model from years past (left to right: Doctor Peaches, Mustang Lady, Turbo the Wonder Horse, Grayingham Lucky Lad, Bright Zip, Mego, Tseminole Wind, Bold Reflections, & Rejoice), in addition to a BreyerFest Surprise Model (Excalibur, far left, background), & a BreyerFest Benefit Auction test/one-of-a-kind model (Western Prancing Horse in metallic palomino, far right, background). Props included various BreyerFest goodies like Stablemate Keychains, Bolo Ties, Buttons, Postcards, Mug, etc.

Here are some photos of a few show ring tables in Open Halter OF (Original Finish) Plastic:
Thoroughbreds |
Warmbloods |
Arabians |
We were beginning to take a photo of every class, unfortunately it would have taken up way too much film since we wanted to get pix of my placings as well. I wish we could have though, it would have been interesting! If anyone else who was there has photos, I would love to see! I really wish we had taken pix of the Quarter Horse class in particular, it was HUGE!!!
Placings were awarded up to 10th, rosettes were received up to & including 6th. This was a North American Model Horse Show Association (NAMHSA) member show, so models with 1st & 2nd placings qualify to go to the North American Nationals (NAN)!
My models won 16 various placings between 10th & 7th. Here is a breakdown of the rest:
6th - 5 |
5th - 5 |
4th - 4 |
